November 20th, 2010: Our Wedding Day

David and I were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity on November 20th, 2010 at 3:00pm.  It is a surreal thing when you are kneeling across the alter of the temple and realize that this is the moment you've been working and living for for your whole life.  Heaven felt close as we made the most important promises of our lives to each other and to God.   It was the day I married my best friend.  We are so grateful for our family and close friends who shared this experience with us.  It was so special having them there.
In spite of the weather our day was perfect.  Rumor has it that bad weather is a good omen on a wedding day.  It was freezing outside as we took pictures; hair was out of control, people were shivering, and all of us were anxious to get out of the cold.  Thankfully the location o four wedding dinner was close to Temple Square and before too long we were all gathered together in Dave and my favorite mexican restaurant Blue Iguana.  It is a fun and cozy atmosphere which was perfect for our wedding day!

Engagement

 The day we got engaged.......
Dave and I had been dating since November of 2009 and talked often about marriage and our future together.  It was the beginning of the semester and we were working hard to find a balance between school, jobs, and time for each other.  Not an easy thing to do!  It was Thursday, September 2, 2010 that Dave asked me to marry him.  We went out to dinner and were having a good time.  I did notice that Dave seemed distracted, like his mind was somewhere else but he assured me he was fine.  After dinner he suggested that we got to the Provo temple and have FHE which we had been trying to do each week.  Once there we got out and began walking the grounds.
There were so many people there that evening and it seemed that every spot Dave tried to take me was occupied.  Eventually we found ourselves at the entrance side of the temple sitting close to the fountain.  We began talking about the temple and the significance it is to each of us in our lives.  Before I realized what was he was doing he was on his knee asking the most important question of both our lives.  His words and sentiment were so touching and beautiful.  He asked me to spend forever with him there in front of the temple where forever begins.  After putting the ring on my finger and sitting back on the bench with me we looked out to see fireworks going off.  It was such a strange but special thing for us to have a 5 minute firework show at the exact time of our engagement.  We don't know what they were for or who had put them on but Dave's dad Len said, "I don't believe that is a coincidence at all."  Neither do Dave and I.
