Engagement

 The day we got engaged.......
Dave and I had been dating since November of 2009 and talked often about marriage and our future together.  It was the beginning of the semester and we were working hard to find a balance between school, jobs, and time for each other.  Not an easy thing to do!  It was Thursday, September 2, 2010 that Dave asked me to marry him.  We went out to dinner and were having a good time.  I did notice that Dave seemed distracted, like his mind was somewhere else but he assured me he was fine.  After dinner he suggested that we got to the Provo temple and have FHE which we had been trying to do each week.  Once there we got out and began walking the grounds.
There were so many people there that evening and it seemed that every spot Dave tried to take me was occupied.  Eventually we found ourselves at the entrance side of the temple sitting close to the fountain.  We began talking about the temple and the significance it is to each of us in our lives.  Before I realized what was he was doing he was on his knee asking the most important question of both our lives.  His words and sentiment were so touching and beautiful.  He asked me to spend forever with him there in front of the temple where forever begins.  After putting the ring on my finger and sitting back on the bench with me we looked out to see fireworks going off.  It was such a strange but special thing for us to have a 5 minute firework show at the exact time of our engagement.  We don't know what they were for or who had put them on but Dave's dad Len said, "I don't believe that is a coincidence at all."  Neither do Dave and I.
